Once your application has been received, an officer will contact you to organise an inspection of the premises. Once approved, you will receive a Certificate of Registration.
For hairdressers, once you have your Certificate of Registration you won't need to do anything further. Your registration is ongoing and will not need to be regularly renewed. You will have to notify the Shire in writing if any of your business practices change.
For all other business types, your premises will be registered until 31 March. Registrations are required to be renewed each year. An invitation to renew your business registration will be sent towards the end of the registration period explaining how to renew your registration.

Premises where more than five persons (who are not part of the proprietor's family) are accommodated must be registered with Council under the Public Health and Well Being Act 2008. Premises which must be registered as prescribed accommodation include Residential accommodation, Hotels and motels, Hostels, Student dormitories, Holiday camps.
