Half day watercolour workshop with Pete Porteous

Pete is a renowned watercolour artist and experienced art tutor, whose classes are instructional and fun.

The class will be held at the Portsea Gallery where you'll be surrounded by beautiful art and enjoy bubbles, sparkling water and nibbles. (You may know the gallery by its previous name, Aegean Designs Gallery Portsea.)

This class will have a marine theme featuring boats. You'll leave with one or two completed pieces - your choice.

Important to note before booking

  • A list of materials to bring is outlined below
  • Class size is 14 students.
  • The workshop is not suitable for absolute beginners.

List of what to bring

  • your preferred watercolour paints
  • 2 sheets A3 sized watercolour paper or larger if you prefer
  • watercolour mop brushes of a few different sizes
  • flat watercolour brushes of a few different sizes
  • any other watercolour brushes that you'd like
  • kneadable eraser
  • HB pencil (or H4)
  • roll of masking tape or Scotch paper tape, about 1cm wide
  • plastic watercolour palette or dinner plate size plastic plates
  • MDF board to tape your paper to (or plywood if you don't have MDF)
  • hand-towel or absorbent cloth
  • paper towel
