You’re invited to help us shape the renewal of Koopalanda Playground, with consultation now open on a draft concept design for the much-loved neighbourhood playspace.

The playground, located at Koopalanda Close, has long been valued by local families as a place for children to play and for neighbours to connect.

The concept design is now available for community feedback and will help guide the next stage of the playground renewal.

The draft concept design aims to:

  • Provide an inclusive playspace,
  • Improve accessibility and,
  • Make the most of existing infrastructure where it is safe and practical to do so.

Mayor Stephen Batty said Council recognises the strong community interest in Koopalanda Playground and wants residents to have a clear opportunity to provide feedback.

“We know Koopalanda Playground matters to local families and understand people want to see progress,” Cr Batty said.

“This consultation is an important step in the renewal, and community feedback will help inform what happens next.

“We encourage residents to review the concept design and share practical feedback.”

Coolart Ward Councillor David Gill said that local knowledge should help shape the final design, and the project’s focus on a safe, inclusive and welcoming playspace.

“Koopalanda Playground has been part of Red Hill South for many years, and people feel strongly about its future,” Cr Gill said.

“This is a chance for residents to review the concept design and tell us what matters most.

“I encourage everyone with an interest in the playground to take part.”

Community feedback will be reviewed after consultation closes and used to inform the next stage of the project, including design refinement and delivery planning.
