The current Local Law prohibits the parking of an oversize vehicle on private residential land, however in certain circumstances a Permit will be issued to the owner of the land to permit the parking.
The purpose of the permit assessment is to ensure that the oversize vehicle does not impact on neighbouring properties, public safety or cause damage to Shire assets.
Prior to approval being granted a number of considerations will be assessed and applicants should provide as much information as part of an application to outline why consideration should be given.
The Shire's Community Amenity Local Law 2022 Clause 15, states that a person must not, without a permit, park, store or repair or allow another person to park, store or repair a vehicle over 7.5 metres in length (including any trailer and fittings) and/or a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle mass in excess of 4.5 tonnes on private land, which is in a Residential area.
