How to become a Shire volunteer

Signing up to be a volunteer is simple and easy. Volunteer opportunities are advertised on our Volunteer Portal, where you can easily explore and apply for roles that suit your interests.

TAC L2P program

A program to help learner drivers complete their on-road driving experience and gain confidence on the road.

Community houses

Community Houses welcome people from all walks of life, creating opportunities for individuals and groups to enrich their lives through connections they might not otherwise make.

Home library service

Our Libraries provide free monthly deliveries of library materials to housebound residents through its Home Library Service.

Meals on Wheels service

Volunteers help the community's most vulnerable with delivery of healthy meals and to stay connected to their community.

Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery

Experience the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery from the inside by assisting with front of house, being an exhibition attendant or a gallery guide.

Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre

Volunteers play a key role in promoting tourism experiences to visitors and local residents.

The Briars

A range of opportunities are available at the Briars for those passionate about local history, wildlife and agriculture.

Eco Living Display Centre

Located next to the Nursery at The Briars, The Eco Living Display Centre is a wonderful place to volunteer. We offer indoor and outdoor roles. Whichever you choose, you’ll be helping us to promote sustainable living practices that don’t cost the Earth.
