Take the lead and join our Youth Advisory Committee! All different kinds of people can become leaders.
If you are aged 15 – 25 years old and interested in being a leader in the community, a voice for other young people and having lots of fun, then join the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)!
The purpose of YAC is to meet and talk about issues impacting young people on the Peninsula.
There will be opportunities for you discuss issues which you are passionate about, as well as advise and provide feedback on Council programs, services and policy development.
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard!
We meet Monday afternoons, 4pm - 6pm, at Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub in Rosebud. Remote access is available if you can’t always meet in person.
All different kinds of young people join our YAC. You don’t have to be confident, top of the class, or know all the answers.
Good leaders often make other people feel heard and seen – they know how to include others. They are also able to negotiate and listen – sometimes in a committee we have to agree to disagree.
As you gain experience, you will learn more about yourself and what types of things interest you. You will also find out what sort of leader you are.
