The Peninsula Youth Music Society is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed in 1980 as a special enterprise for Music 81. PYMS runs programs for school aged students. La Gruta Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble that provides a challenging program for string and woodwind players. The participants will gain ensemble skills and be introduced to orchestral repertoire. Saturday Morning Music School offers programs for prep to grade 6 students. Children in prep to grade 3, are involved in classes that develop skills needed for instrumental studies through listening and responding to music. Students participate in three sessions during the morning, singing, dance and playing percussion instruments. Grade 4-6 students have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and to play with other children in an ensemble. PYMS also offers and annual Summer Music School.
