Girl Guides
Girl Guides is a brave, safe space for girls and young women to shape their own identities, lives and communities in a wholly supportive environment.
Guides is for girls from 6—17. When girls join Guides, they become part of a local and global sisterhood of Guides - the largest voluntary movement in the world dedicated to empowering girls and young women.
Through informal learning experiences, girls develop
- their agency and voice
- connections and a sense of belonging
- independence and leadership skills
- resilience and a strong sense of wellbeing
- confidence and courage
- knowledge and skillsets for their future
What do you do at Guides? The Guide program is ’girl-led’ so that girls choose their own path and learn through their own experiences. Fully trained volunteer Guide Leaders support the girls through
· Adventures and educational experiences
· A range of activities that the girls want to try that develop their skills, independence, and leadership.
