We are seeking feedback from our community on proposed parking upgrades for Sorrento. The proposals are based on input from more than 300 individuals and businesses collected earlier this year. Upgrades include significant expansions to the Morce Avenue car park, new wayfinding signage and changes to parking time restrictions designed to improve accessibility and reduce congestion during peak periods.
Based on community input, we have developed the following proposals:
- Expand Morce Avenue car park to deliver 95 additional parking spaces (total estimated cost: $2,046,000)
- Introduce a combination of 3-hour and all-day parking spaces in Morce Avenue car park
- New directional signage to help visitors locate the Morce Avenue car park
- Convert existing 1-hour parking to 2-hour parking on Ocean Beach Road
- Explore the conversion of parallel parking to angled parking along Hotham Road adjacent to David MacFarlan Reserve.

Consultation closes 24 November 2025.
Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
“Back in March this year, we consulted with stakeholders and the community on options to improve parking management in Sorrento. The feedback revealed strong support for additional parking, with 68 per cent of respondents agreeing that more parking is needed during peak times.”
Quote attributable to Nepean Ward Councillor Andrea Allen:
“We recognise the importance of balancing the needs of residents, businesses and visitors while maintaining Sorrento's special character. I urge my community to go online or visit a Shire Customer Support Centre to review the proposed plans, read the findings from the last survey and share their thoughts.”
