Changes in weather are vital for life on earth, including seasonal changes from wet to dry, even weather events like fire play an important role in shaping our natural environments. However, in the current climate crisis, normal weather events are becoming more frequent and extreme, with increasing intensities of weather such as rain and drought having detrimental impacts on people and nature alike.

Understanding the impacts of extreme weather and how to prepare for more frequent extreme weather events is an important part of equipping students to seek a more sustainable existence. Students will explore how extreme weather can impact the environment and human life by exploring the Wildlife Sanctuary to learn how recent events such as floods have changed the landscape, and how we can prepare ourselves and natural environments for further extreme weather events.
