'Hello World': Children's Week Art Installation

Next date: Tuesday, 27 October 2026 | 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM

Children's Week is an annual celebration that focuses on raising awareness about the rights and well-being of children.

The national theme for 2026 is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) Article 30: "Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion".

Join us at Mornington Community House as we create a mural to acknowledge and celebrate Children’s Week.

Hello World is a collaborative recycled art installation that brings together children's voices, languages, cultures and connections to place.

Using recycled and sustainable materials, children will contribute to the creation of a large-scale mural celebrating diversity and belonging, which will hang pride of place in Mornington Community House long after Children's Week has concluded!

This activity is aimed at children aged 5 - 12 years, but younger children are welcome to participate with parent/carer support.

Please note that parents/guardians are required to stay with children for the duration of this activity. Families are encouraged to create together, making the activity inclusive and intergenerational!
