Beaches and foreshores

Calm bay beaches with stretches of white and golden sand, typically featuring beach boxes, jetties, and well-kept foreshore reserves. The shoreline is gently sloping with sheltered, predictable water conditions and minimal surf. Backed by grassed areas and coastal vegetation, these locations offer easy access, clear sightlines, and consistent natural light, making them well-suited to lifestyle, family, and refined coastal scenes.
 
If you are planning to film or photograph on a beach or foreshore location, a permit is required.

Exposed ocean beaches characterised by rugged cliffs, rock platforms, and active surf conditions. The shoreline shifts between sand, reef, and tidal pools, with strong tides and constant wave movement. Backed by natural coastal vegetation and uneven terrain, these sites have limited access points and changing conditions, making them suited to large-scale visuals, atmospheric scenes, and high-energy coastal activity.

Point Nepean back beach, Portsea
