You’ll want to make a detour at Yawa – here’s why

There’s something new at Yawa – and it’s not just what’s happening in the pool.

Next time you walk through the Yawa foyer, stop for a moment. On the walls is a stunning new display that’s already turning heads, featuring immersive, coastal-inspired photography by local visual storyteller: Yanni Dellaportas.

From moody skies and coastal horizons to striking wildlife and golden-hour seascapes, Yanni’s gallery wraps you in the colours, textures, and spirit of the Mornington Peninsula. His lens captures moments that feel both epic and intimate.

“I just want to document it all,” Yanni says. “I’ve lived here all my life, and I never stop being amazed by what’s around us, especially the water. It’s where most of my work starts.”
His new installation is more than a gallery – it’s a slow moment in a busy space, a breath of calm, an invitation to look up.

The refreshed gallery is part of Yawa’s ongoing celebration of place, culture, and visual storytelling.
You don’t need to book a swim to enjoy it – just drop by, take a moment and see the Peninsula through Yanni’s eyes.

It’s free to view and available during Yawa opening hours.
