We are bursting with pride to share the exciting news that one of our own, Monica Seal, was chosen as a finalist for the Young Achiever Award at the 2024 LgPRO Awards for Excellence! This nomination recognizes Monica's outstanding contributions and tireless dedication as our Disability Inclusion Officer.

Monica has led several innovative projects that have significantly improved accessibility and inclusion in our community. Among Monica's achievements is her work on the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower project. This initiative has provided a discreet way for people with hidden disabilities to signal their need for assistance, fostering a more understanding and supportive environment. Additionally, Monica partnered with Accessibility Australia to create Access Keys for the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and Rosebud Library. These detailed guides help individuals with disabilities navigate these spaces comfortably and confidently. Monica also collaborated with Better Boating Victoria to install an all-abilities hoist at Hastings, making boating accessible to everyone. Her work extends to our beautiful beaches, where she spearheaded the beach matting project. These mats have made our beaches more accessible to individuals with mobility challenges, allowing them to enjoy the sand and sea more easily.

Furthermore, Monica has been instrumental in promoting inclusive sports through our all-abilities golf program.

We couldn't be more thrilled for Monica and her well-deserved recognition. Her hard work, passion, and commitment to inclusion have improved many lives in our community.
