Move more, meet new people and get Active Together this November
Published on 15 October 2026
Mornington Peninsula residents looking for new ways to get active will soon have an easier way to find opportunities close to home, with the launch of Active Together.
Throughout November, residents can try a range of activities at little to no cost, making it easy to explore something new without committing to ongoing fees or memberships.
Active Together brings together activities, programs and community groups from across the Peninsula, helping residents discover ways to get active, meet others and get involved in their local community.
From walking groups and recreation programs to community activities and local sporting opportunities, Active Peninsula highlights the many ways people can be active, regardless of age, experience or fitness level.
Mayor Stephen Batty said the campaign showcases the broad range of opportunities already available across the Peninsula.
"There are so many ways for people to get involved in their local community and be active in a way that suits them, " Cr Batty said.
"For some people that might be joining a walking group or attending a class at a recreation centre. Others may prefer exploring local parks, trails and open spaces. Active Peninsula helps people discover what's available nearby and connect with the organisations running these activities."
The campaign has a particular focus on welcoming and accessible activities that are easy to try, including opportunities that appeal to older women and people who may be looking to build social connections within their community.
Active Peninsula aims to make it easier for residents to discover welcoming and accessible opportunities close to home, particularly those who may be looking for low-impact activities or opportunities to meet others in their community.
