Dromana locals are celebrating the official reopening of the newly upgraded Marna Reserve Pavilion—a $740,000 project that has transformed the much-loved local facility into a more inclusive, accessible, and functional space for all.

Jointly funded by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council ($390,000) and the Victorian State Government through the 2023 Growing Suburbs Fund ($350,000), the upgrades deliver vital improvements that reflect the evolving needs of the Dromana community.

The upgrades include new access ramps and decking, a new accessible toilet, refreshed amenities, increased storage for community groups, and new accessible car spaces.

The revitalised community hub will play a key role in increasing social participation, supporting local sporting and cultural groups, and providing a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities.

The space now proudly serves the Italian Seniors Club, the Dromana Junior and Senior Football Netball Clubs, and the Dromana Community Garden Group.

The Marna Reserve Pavilion upgrade is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to investing in infrastructure that supports Dromana’s growing population and celebrates its diverse community.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:

“It’s great to see another project jointly funded by Council and the State Government come to life. The upgrades at Marna Reserve Pavilion have breathed new life into a dated facility and significantly enhanced its functionality for our local community groups.”

“With Dromana’s population growing by over 9% annually, we’re committed to delivering infrastructure that strengthens local connections, supports active lifestyles, and fosters community wellbeing.”
