Why choose between earning a wage and gaining a qualification when you can do both?

Applications are now open for our 2027 Traineeship Program, giving school leavers, career changers and people returning to the workforce the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while building a rewarding future.

Hurry though, this opportunity closes on Sunday 1 November 2026.

The traineeship program offers paid employment while completing a Certificate IV in Business, giving you practical experience in a range of Council services while earning a nationally recognised qualification.

Mayor Stephen Batty said the Traineeship Program was an important way for the Shire to invest in local people and build a strong future workforce.

"This Traineeship Program offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience, earn a qualification and build confidence in a supportive workplace," Cr Batty said.

"Applications are open for two weeks, so I encourage anyone considering a traineeship to apply as soon as possible."

Open to school leavers, adults returning to work and people seeking a career change, successful applicants will gain hands-on experience, learn from skilled professionals and develop capabilities that can lead to long-term career opportunities.
