Bringing the Library to you – OLiV hits the road

Not everyone can easily get to a library, so the Shire is bringing the library to you.
OLiV, our new Library Van, is now visiting townships and community hubs across the Peninsula, making it easier for more people to stay connected, keep learning, and enjoy a great book.
With 16 stops across 14 locations, OLiV is designed to serve residents who may not have a library nearby or find it difficult to visit a branch.
Whether you love to read, need large print books, enjoy audiobooks, or want to borrow a DVD, there’s something for everyone. You can also request and collect holds, just like at a regular library.
Recently, OLiV visited the Flinders Community Hall, where residents had the chance to explore the service and borrow from a rotating collection of titles.
For older residents, parents with young children, and those with limited transport options, this service is a game changer.
This initiative is about more than books: it’s about connection, accessibility, and making library services available to more people in our community.
