The Sorrento Museum requires additional storage facilities to ensure the preservation and storage of heritage artefacts on the Mornington Peninsula.
The Sorrento Museum Storage Works project has undergone a scope and delivery model revision to better meet the current needs of the Nepean Historical Society (NHS), the long-term tenant of the heritage-listed site. NHS will now lead the delivery of the project, supported by Council’s project team, with works expected to be completed in 2027. The updated scope includes essential upgrades to the museum’s infrastructure, improved storage and work areas, and sustainability features such as solar panels. This community-led approach is being trialled to explore alternative models for delivering capital works projects within the approved budget.
