Mornington Peninsula Shire identified the necessity of constructing a footpath connecting from Point Nepean Road Sorrento and connecting to Back Beach Road Portsea. The proposed works will be undertaken in three stages.
Stage 1: The detailed design is complete. Council will now prioritise Stages 2 and 3.
Stage 2 & 3 – A capital works budget bid has been submitted for the detailed design of Stage 2 and the feasibility study for Stage 3 for FY25/26.
The Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) for the project has been reduced to include only Stages 1 and 2. Further study and investigation will be needed for Stage 3 to determine the feasibility of constructing the new footpath. Implementation of stage 1 was not recommended in the 24/25 FY.budget
