Mornington Peninsula Shire is progressing plans to improve road conditions on Bungower Road between Dandenong-Hastings Road and Tyabb-Tooradin Road.
This section of road has been identified as being in poor condition and has been prioritised for upgrade through the Federal Roads to Recovery Program (2024-2029).
The project will include road rehabilitation works to improve the condition and longevity of the road, as well as a range of safety improvements. This will include the installation of safety barriers at high-risk locations and audio tactile line marking to enhance road user safety.
The project is funded through the Roads to Recovery Program, with a total investment of approximately $2.5 million which supports the construction and maintenance of the nation's local road infrastructure assets (refer to this website for more details about RTR: https://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/about/local-initiatives/roads-recovery-program)
