  • Project value$528,000

The Federal Black Spot Program has approved $528,000 in funding to complete road safety upgrades in Tanti Avenue, Mornington.

As part of this project, we are proposing to reduce the speed limit in Tanti Avenue from 60km/h to 50kh/h and install series of raised safety platforms and wombat crossings to support reduced operational speeds and prioritised pedestrian crossing points

The Tanti Avenue Blackspot project aims to improve safety and reduce the potential for crash occurrence and severity on the local road network through a combination of traffic calming treatments and a proposed 50 km/h speed limit.

Construction is planned to be commenced in 2027.

Community consultation was undertaken during project development.

Scope of work includes:

  • a series of raised safety platforms
  • raised zebra crossings
  • Speed limit reduction from 60km/h to 50km/h in Tanti Avenue
  • line marking, lighting and signage.
