A boat ramp at Schnapper Point Mornington is ageing and requires renewal. The main objective of this project is maintaining and upgrading the existing services. This project is funded by Better Boating Victoria.
A consultant was engaged to undertake current scope condition assessment of ramps and jetties with a view to replacing them.
Community consultation with key stakeholders and a pop-up session for the community was held in early 2024. Since receiving feedback during this community consultation, the detailed design has been finalised.
A planning permit has been approved for the delivery component of the project.
Marine and Coastal Act consent has also been received from DEECA.
A funding agreement for delivery component of the works is being sought between Mornington Peninsula Shire and Better Boating Victoria to move forward with delivery of the project.
Project Update:
The project team completed evaluations ahead of schedule. The recommendation report is now being brought to the 17 Feb Council meeting for Council approval.
