Dromana: Watson Avenue – Road Safety Improvements (SLRSP)

Project Summary 

Watson Avenue is a long and mostly straight local residential street and is prone to high vehicle speeds and experienced a high-speed crash along the section. These concerns have been frequently raised by residents and to address them, traffic calming treatments will be constructed to help slow traffic, improve driver awareness, and reduce the likelihood and severity of crashes. 

These road safety upgrades will contribute to a safer and more efficient local road network, supporting safer travel throughout the community.

Project Scope 

The proposed treatments include: 

• Four raised safety platforms along Watson Avenue. 
• One raised intersection at Watson Avenue & Corey Avenue. 
• Potential lighting improvements at these locations to meet current standards.

Construction timeline

The project is currently in the design phase, and construction will either commence in November or after the Christmas break depending on contractor availability.  

The expected timeline will be updated as the project progresses.
