Bittern Public Hall Amenity Renewal.jpg

Bittern Activity Centre Public Amenity was identified for renewal as a priority through council adopted 2012 Public Toilet Strategy.

Asset register records indicate that the existing toilet block was constructed in 1960. It services the adjacent activity centre that includes a township shopping precinct, public hall users, neighbourhood playground patrons and the Bittern Rotary Community Market.

The existing facility was demolished and an accessible and fit for purpose modular toilet facility constructed to foster significant participation in community events and activities and support economic development and business opportunities, meeting the needs of the community, in a sustainable manner.

We were successful in acquiring necessary funds through the ‘Tiny Towns Fund’ to complete this project through the 24/25 Financial Year.

The new public toilet facility adjacent to Bittern Hall completed construction and was opened to the community in early July.
