If you’re looking to save money, you might like to consider joining the growing number of people upgrading to an all-electric home.
All-electric homes save hundreds of dollars a year in energy bills. You’ll benefit from having a healthier home which is also better for the environment.
When large gas appliances, such as gas heating or hot water systems reach their end of life, it’s the perfect time to upgrade them with a more efficient, electric option. Switching from gas to electricity in an existing home with solar panels can save around $1250 a year. This is in addition to around $950 of savings each year from an existing 6.6 kW solar system.
Savings for new homes
You can save around $880 per year back by building an all-electric home. This increases to approximately $1,820 if solar is installed.
Healthier homes
Going all electric isn’t just good for your bank balance. It’s also good for your family’s health.
According to the National Asthma Council, research has found that around 12 per cent of childhood asthma in Australia can be attributed to the use of gas stoves for cooking. So, switching to an all-electric home can also improve indoor air quality.
