Apply for a Busking Permit

Step 1.Read the following information and attachments

  • By applying for a Solo Busking Permit or Group Busking Permit, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions(PDF, 222KB) and agree to comply with any relevant legislation which governs busking activities.
  • Are you under 18? If a performer is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be listed as the permit holder.
  • Are you applying for a group busking permit for five or more performers? You must contact the Community Safety Team on (03) 5950 1434 before making an application.
  • Is your busking location Council land? Council can only issue busking permits to take place on Council land. Permit applications for privately owned land such as shopping centre forecourts must be made directly to the relevant landowner or manager. If you’re unsure, please contact the Community Safety Team on (03) 5950 1434 to confirm.

Alternatively, download and complete the Busking Permit Application Form(PDF, 174KB) and attend any Customer Service Office to make payment.

The Mornington Peninsula Shire regulates busking activities in public places under Clause 66 of the Community Amenity Local Law 2022Council’s Community Safety Team are responsible for assessing and granting permit applications.

All permits issued will subject to terms and conditions(PDF, 222KB) which must be adhered to by all performers and permit holders. Failure to do so may result in the permit being cancelled.
