Step 2.Contact your local traders group or chamber of commerce for a letter of consent.

Applications to busk must have attached to them a letter of consent from the relevant trader group or Chamber of Commerce.

Please note: applications cannot be processed without a letter of consent.

The Mornington Peninsula Shire Community Amenity Local Law regulates activities such as busking on roads or public places through a permit process.

A regulated number of permits will be issued at any one time at various locations throughout the Mornington Peninsula. The Community Safety officers are responsible for assessing permit applications.

  • Applications to busk must have attached to them a letter of consent from the relevant trader group or Chamber of Commerce.
  • All permits issued will contain a number of conditions which must be adhered to by the performer. Failure to do so may result in the permit being amended or cancelled.
  • The requirement for public liability insurance will be assessed on each application received.
