The Mornington Peninsula Shire regulates busking activities in public places under Clause 66 of the Community Amenity Local Law 2022. Council’s Community Safety Team are responsible for assessing and granting permit applications.
All permits issued will subject to terms and conditions(PDF, 222KB) which must be adhered to by all performers and permit holders. Failure to do so may result in the permit being cancelled.

Busking or street entertainers bring enjoyment to the community and add to the vitality of the street. It is important, however, that these activities are conducted in a manner which complements other activities within the township and does not pose a safety hazard.
The busking permit fee is $55 and must be paid at the time of application. For performers under 18 or fund-raising activities for a registered charitable organisation, this fee is waived. Please contact the Community Safety Team (03) 5950 1434 for further information.
Permits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and must be renewed prior to expiry.
