The Mornington Peninsula Shire General Purposes Local Law Part 2 Section 13 regulates activities such as busking on roads or public places through a permit process.
A regulated number of permits will be issued at any one time at various locations throughout the Mornington Peninsula. The Shire Ranger team is responsible for assessing permit applications.

Busking or street entertainers can bring enjoyment to the community and add to the vitality of the street, it is important however, that these activities are conducted in a manner which compliments other activities within the township.
The busking permit fee is $226 and is paid at the time of application. For children aged 16 years or younger or, in the case of a fund raising activity, for a registered charitable organisation, this fee is waived.
Permits are generally issued for a 3 month period, however a permit may be extended up to 3 times in a 12 month period without further application fee. This will be dependant on availability of location and the number of other applications received.
