Apply for a Busking Permit

Step 1.Read the information on this page to understand what is required.

This includes information on costs, duration of the permit and permit conditions.

Step 2.Contact your local traders group or chamber of commerce for a letter of consent.

Applications to busk must have attached to them a letter of consent from the relevant trader group or Chamber of Commerce.

Step 3.Apply for your permit

As mentioned above. Council is not currently accepting applications for busking permits.

The Mornington Peninsula Shire General Purposes Local Law Part 2 Section 13 regulates activities such as busking on roads or public places through a permit process.

A regulated number of permits will be issued at any one time at various locations throughout the Mornington Peninsula. The Shire Ranger team is responsible for assessing permit applications.

  • Applications to busk must have attached to them a letter of consent from the relevant trader group or Chamber of Commerce.
  • All permits issued will contain a number of conditions which must be adhered to by the performer. Failure to do so may result in the permit being amended or cancelled.
  • The requirement for public liability insurance will be assessed on each application received.
