The Heritage Rebates program is one of the ways through which the Shire recognises the value of heritage places in the Mornington Peninsula. The Shire offers a rate rebate for heritage place owners who undertake preservation, restoration or maintenance work to conserve the heritage value of their properties.
To be eligible for a rate rebate, a property must be listed under the Schedule to Clause 43.01 (Heritage Overlay) in one of the following ways:
A heritage place that is listed as an individual site may be eligible for a rate reduction of 25 per cent of the rate paid on the difference between the Capital Improved Value and Site Value, or $100, whichever is higher.
A heritage place that is listed as a contributory element of a heritage precinct may be eligible for a rate reduction of 12.5 per cent of the rate paid on the difference between the Capital Improved Value and Site Value, or $50, whichever is higher.
Complete and submit the Heritage Rebate Form to apply for a heritage rebate.
