Uniting Victoria and Tasmania

At Uniting we work together to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice. Supporting people in communities across Victoria and Tasmania for over 100 years, we provide more than 700 programs and services to people of all ages to learn, thrive and enjoy a healthy, happy life.
As an organisation, we celebrate our diversity and welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, faith, age, disability, culture, language, gender identity or sexual orientation. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as Australia’s First Peoples and as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we work. We welcome lesbian, gay, trans, gender diverse and intersex (LGBTIQ) people at our services. We pledge to provide inclusive and non-discriminatory services.
Through a range of volunteer based programs, Uniting Social Support assists older people and eligible adults with a disability to remain connected through their community and engaged in activities they love to do. Our volunteers support people to recognize their strengths, build on their capacity, set goals and remain as independent as possible for as long as possible in their own home.
Volunteers support people to achieve their individual social goals through helping with transport, organising and facilitating small groups, assisting at our centre based programs, participating in one of our individual or group telephone based services, or by connecting with people individually at home, in the community or through a combination of both.
