Friends Groups are community members who volunteer their time to protect and enhance the native plants, Animalss and biodiversity values in their local bushland reserve. Once a month the volunteers come together at working bees and participate in a number of activities such as weeding, planting, monitoring, applying for grants and undertaking citizen science projects. The Shire works closely with FOLKLAW, providing support, training, advice and equipment.
