Rye Foreshore Reserve

Located on the Rye Foreshore opposite the Rye town centre and close to Rye Pier, boat ramps and car parking, the Rye Foreshore Reserve includes toilets, bbq facilities, picnic areas and a large playground.

Rye’s much-loved foreshore playground has a large play space was built by the Rye community for the Rye community.

It was rennovated in 2017 to make it even more accessible, particularly for children with disabilities. 

The playground includes:

  • Wooden adventure playground
  • Close to beach on foreshore reserve with nearby barbecue, toilets and picnic tables
  • Built by the community in 2012
  • Fully fenced with a seaside theme
  • Tunnel
  • Slides
  • Flying fox
  • Climbing ropes
  • Swings

More than 700 volunteers pitched in to help build the Rye’s Up community playground during ‘The Build’ project. Skilled and unskilled volunteers assisted with painting, construction, concreting, childcare and mulching to build the playground situated on Rye Foreshore. The playground project was part of the Shire’s innovative Community Capital initiative, where Shire Officers assist community groups to construct or upgrade community infrastructure.
