Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has partnered with Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism (MPRT), industry stakeholders, and the State Government to establish a Visitor Economy Partnership (VEP).
Lead by MPRT the VEP is recognised as the peak voice for the visitor economy in the region.
This partnership represents a new collaborative approach to growing the visitor economy by supporting local industry to expand and employ more residents, developing new visitor experiences, delivering compelling events, and promoting the region through coordinated marketing.
The Mornington Peninsula Destination Management Plan (DMP) provides a five-year strategic framework for the collaborative approach for the development of the region’s visitor economy.
The objectives of the DMP are:
To enable an unparalleled visitor experience and satisfaction with visitors enriched by the highest level of service and supporting quality infrastructure
To increase awareness of the region as a premium coastal destination, both interstate and internationally to grow these segments
Rich in product and experiences, the DMP highlights that the primary strength and appeal of the Mornington Peninsula is its coastal landscape and premium products and experiences.
