Senior exercise park champions
Do you enjoy staying active and connecting with others in your community? Are you passionate about supporting older residents to feel confident, welcomed, and included? If so, becoming a senior exercise park champion could be a rewarding way to get involved.
The Shire proudly supports active and healthy ageing through our Senior Exercise Parks in Mount Martha and Hastings.
Our senior exercise park champions are friendly volunteers who help older residents feel welcome, confident, and supported to use the outdoor exercise equipment. Champions encourage participation, share simple guidance, and help create a relaxed, inclusive space where people can stay active and connect with others.
The parks feature free, age‑friendly equipment designed to support balance, flexibility, gentle strength, and everyday movement, with some equipment carefully designed to assist with falls prevention. Champions often support free “come and try” sessions, helping visitors feel comfortable and confident using the equipment at their own pace.
