Active Peninsula encourages women, girls and the wider community to move more in ways that feel comfortable, enjoyable and achievable for them. We are promoting gentle, inclusive and accessible ways to be active, including walking, cycling and active transport as part of everyday life.
Active Peninsula recognises that movement looks different for everyone and encourages people to find activities that suit their interests, abilities, confidence and stage of life. It aims to create supportive and welcoming opportunities where women, girls and the wider community can feel comfortable being active without pressure or judgement.
The program supports a more inclusive approach to physical activity, recognising and welcoming women of all identities, including cisgender, trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people. By making movement more accessible, enjoyable and inclusive, Active Peninsula aims to support physical and mental wellbeing, strengthen social connection and create healthier, more connected communities across the Mornington Peninsula.
Local organisations, clubs and activity providers are invited to submit activities, programs and events for inclusion in Active Peninsula. Participating organisations will continue to manage their own bookings, registrations and program information through their existing channels.
