Did you know that disposable eating and drinking utensils are the biggest source of waste at most community events. This trailer was built to address this issue!

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for a social enterprise to kickstart an eco-friendly business. Our brand-new trailer is designed to tackle waste by replacing single-use items with reusable alternatives to be available for hire by event organisers.   

We received a Circular Economy Councils Fund grant from the Victorian Government (Sustainability Victoria) to invest in this trailer that houses most of the things a group would need to cater for a crowd of up to 1000 people.

So, what's inside? 

  • Reusable drinkware
  • Reusable crockery
  • And most importantly, a commercial dishwasher! 

All events held on Shire land must comply with our Single Use Plastic Policy and be single-use plastics free. Our guidelines recommend reusable crockery and drinkware as the best alternative to single-use plastics.

 

We’re looking for a social/local enterprise to run this trailer as a business

The trailer will be available for hire to anyone who is planning an event where food and drink is served. We’re particularly keen to get the trailer out to our many schools, community groups, but also market and commercial event organisers.
