Fire Danger Period
The Fire Danger Period for the Mornington Peninsula will commence on 10 January 2022 and end on 1 May 2022.
A Fire Danger Period is a time of increased fire danger. The CFA restricts the use of fire in the community during the Fire Danger Period to help prevent fires from starting.
You cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a permit or comply with certain requirements. The Mornington Peninsula Shire's local law on open air burning is superseded at this time.
Please check the CFA’s Fire Danger Period Restrictions for further information.
To find out what you can or can’t do during the Fire Danger Period visit the CFA’s webpage.
