Flood waste disposal for people without insurance

If you DO HAVE home insurance, the information below does not apply to you. Please contact your insurance provider for information on your claim and waste disposal.

If you DO NOT HAVE home insurance, we have set up a dedicated waste receival site at the Rye landfill.

You must contact the Shire on 1300 850 600 to organise disposal. We will take your details, confirm the nature of the waste and advise the gatehouse at Rye.

On arrival at the Rye site please note the following:

  • You will be required to provide proof of residency at the gatehouse e.g: rates notice and/or drivers licence to confirm the identity and the affected residential property. We will include this information on the transaction that is processed.
  • The material will be inspected at the site to confirm that it is flood affected material. You will be required to pay for any non-flood affected material.
  • You will be directed to an appropriate location for the disposal of this material. If possible material that can be recycled will be separated.
