Willum Warrain, in local Boon Wurrung language means ‘Hut by the sea’. Willum Warrain is an Aboriginal community-controlled association. It is run by a community elected voluntary Aboriginal Board. It is a registered not for profit organisation with charitable status. Willum Warrain operates a successful Aboriginal Gathering Place on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Gathering Place aims to provide a culturally safe place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their kin to:

  • gather learn cultural knowledge
  • connect to Country and community
  • form a strong supportive community

It is both a place of hope and healing and cultural strengthening. Willum Warrain aspires to provide the community with access to relevant services, activities, programs and events in a culturally appropriate setting.
