Fox

Invasive pest animals threaten and impact Victorian farms, parks, forests, waterways, biodiversity and catchment assets. Whether its introduced predators such as foxes or feral cats, or introduced hervivores such as rabbits or deer, it is important to have a strategic approach to pest management.

The strategic approach promotes coordinated action that aims to reduce the damage caused by pests to an acceptable level in order to achieve a desired outcome (eg improved agricultural production or to conserve biodiversity).

Learn about the key principles that form the basis of the strategic approach In order to plan and carry out pest animal management:

  • What is a pest?
  • Is eradication possible?
  • A whole of system approach
  • Planning and Monitoring
