Connie Rovina 'Reflections of Far North Queensland' - Manyung Gallery

We are excited to introduce artist Connie Rovina to Manyung Gallery. 

Connie Rovina is a distinguished Aboriginal artist and a proud member of the Widi of Central Queensland and KukuThaypan of Cape York, Far North Queensland people. Connie's work is deeply rooted in her rich cultural heritage and the sacred stories passed down through generations.

Her art is a vibrant tapestry of traditional symbols and contemporary interpretations, reflecting the spiritual connection to her ancestral lands and the profound wisdom of her community.

Having started painting within her family group from around six years old, and then professionally from age 20 to now with over four decades of artistic experience, Connie has established herself as a prominent figure in the Aboriginal art scene. Her pieces are celebrated for their intricate detail, bold colour palettes, and evocative storytelling. Each creation is a testament to her deep understanding of Aboriginal history, tradition, flora, and fauna, bringing to life the unique and timeless beauty of the Australian landscape.

Connie's work has been exhibited in galleries and art centers across Australia and the World, earning acclaim from both critics and collectors. She has also contributed to numerous community projects, using her art to promote cultural awareness and education. Her dedication to preserving and sharing her heritage is evident in every piece she creates, making her a cherished cultural ambassador.

A special release of Connie's paintings will be on show at Manyung Gallery Sorrento for the November long weekend.
