Animals can have lots of different features. They can have fur, feathers, scales, exoskeletons. Some are big, others are small. Some have 2 legs and others have many more.
Students will explore the different sorts of animals within The Briars Wildlife Sanctuary and learn about the different features they have and how those features allow them to function within their environments.
Having a specific focus on the ‘why’ animals have the features they do helps differentiate distinct animal groups and introduces the concept of different animals filling different environmental roles.
