About the Briars Nursery
The Briars Nursery grows beautiful plants, indigenous to the peninsula as well as a range of native Australian plants, ready for your garden. The talented team collects seed from local species for wholesale and retail sale to the public. The range includes ground covers, grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and trees.
Opening hours
Open Wednesday to Friday 9:00am to 3:30pm and the first Saturday of the month 9:00am to 1:00pm
Phone/email orders available
You can order native and indigenous tube stock, 150mm and 250mm potted plants via email or phone. Please get in touch with the Nursery team to discuss what's in stock and to order your plants at 5974 8417 or nursery@mornpen.vic.gov.au.

Volunteering at the Nursery
The Briars Nursery welcomes volunteers with an interest in growing plants and gardening. Volunteering at the Nursery provides an opportunity to build on existing horticultural skills, meet new people and learn about our local flora. There are a variety of tasks available including propagation, seed cleaning and sorting, planting, potting, weeding. No experience is necessary.

Revegetation plant guides
The Shire has produced 7 regional revegetation guides to assist landowners in identifying local indigenous plants suitable for revegetation and landscaping. The guides are based on seven geographic regions of the Peninsula. We are able to supply you with these plants or source plants for you.
