Become a Climate Conversations Facilitator!
Are you passionate about climate change? We need your help
Mornington Peninsula Shire is committed to strong action on climate change. This is reflected in our climate emergency declaration and our target of net zero emissions by 2040.
In order to reach this target, we all have a role to play and we need your help.
We have partnered with not-for-profit organisation Climate for Change to train facilitators to lead Climate Conversations within our community.
Climate Conversations are facilitated informal conversations aiming to create meaningful action on climate change through the power of ordinary Australians. You don’t need any experience – just passion, commitment and drive!
In this ongoing volunteer role, you will be part of a strong team of facilitators who will help inspire the local community to take action on climate change.

We know the majority of Australians are concerned about climate change but aren’t sure what they can do about it. Having quality conversations about climate change in a relaxed environment helps build social connections and the momentum for change that’s required to achieve effective climate action.
The training includes an online component that can be completed in your own time, beginning in mid-June. It also includes an online meet and greet on Tues 14 June (7.30-8.30pm) and an in-person training session on Tues 28 June (6.30-9pm) on the Mornington Peninsula.
You will also be paired with a mentor as you get started.
If you’re looking to do something meaningful and effective (and fun!) in tackling climate change, we encourage you to consider applying.
