All terrain and beach wheelchairs 

Accessible all-terrain and beach wheelchairs can be hired by people with limited mobility from a number of organisations on the Mornington Peninsula. To ensure the availability of these chairs, please book ahead by phoning or emailing the individual agencies listed below. 

Mt Martha  

Mount Martha Surf Life-Saving Club - There are two MobiChairs that are able to go into the water - available for use between the flags on weekends during patrol season (November to April) at the Mt Martha Life Saving Club. All users must read the conditions of use, checklist and sign the loan agreement before use.

Point Leo  

Point Leo Surf Life-Saving Club - The Disabled Surfers Association Mornington Peninsula has a Sandcruiser beach wheelchair available for free hire from the Point Leo Surf Life-Saving Club. Phone 0407 332 264 I Email admin@pointleoslsc.com.au 

Somers

Lord Somers Camp have 3 wheelchairs (1 Hippocampe, 2 All-terrain chairs) which can be hired Monday to Friday, 7am to 5.30pm. Weekend use by arrangement with the camp operator prior to pick up. Phone 5983 5502 I Email dave@lordsomerscamp.org.au

Coolart Wetlands and Homestead has a Hippocampe chair which can be hired from the Visitor Centre. Phone 13 1963  I  Email info@parks.vic.gov.au 

Mornington 

OzChild has a Hippocampe chair which can be collected during business hours Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm from their Mornington Office. Phone 59757644 I Email jroberts@ozchild.org.au  

Mt Eliza

Camp Manyung (YMCA) has on offer 3 Hippocampe chairs which can be lent to disability agencies on the Mornington Peninsula. Phone 9788 1100 I Email campmanyung@ymca.org.au 

Point Nepean

Parks Victoria has an All-terrain wheelchair available for hire from the Point Nepean Information Centre. Best suited to compact sand, lawns and pathways. Phone 13 1963 I Email info@parks.vic.gov.au 

Liberty swing

The Liberty Swing allows children in wheelchairs the chance to experience the joy of having a swing in a playground. A Liberty Swing is available at the Hastings Foreshore playground on Marine Parade, Hastings.

The swing is enclosed to ensure a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for all. A Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) is required to operate the swing, which you can borrow from Pelican Park Recreation Centre in Hastings, upon presentation of photo ID.
