Land Use Terms Advisory Committee

In December 2017, the Minister for Planning appointed an Advisory Committee to review and recommend improvements to land use terms and their definitions in Clause 74 of the Victoria Planning Provisions. This is part of the Smart Planning program.

The Victorian Government initiated the Smart Planning program to reform and modernise the Victorian planning system. The aim of the Smart Planning program is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation of planning schemes.

The Advisory Committee sought submissions on its Land Use Terms Advisory Committee Discussion Paper. The following is the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s submission to the Advisory Committee as adopted by Council at its Ordinary Council meeting on 27 March 2018:
