Land Use & Infrastructure Assessment and Rezoning Strategy
Councils adopted Industrial Areas Strategy 2018 (Industrial Strategy) identifies that additional industrial land will be required on the Mornington Peninsula in the future.
Council is now undertaking work to identify suitable land parcels within the study area outlined below for a new business/industrial park. Through an opportunities and constraints assessment of these parcels the project will identify such things as existing uses located on the parcels, vegetation and/or other site constraints for industrial use, including road network infrastructure, transport network and servicing infrastructure and location of prime agricultural land. A number of options will be identified, and ultimately a preferred option recommended. A planning scheme amendment will then be initiated to rezone the preferred site for business/industrial use with a focus on best practice environmentally sustainable design.

We’d love to know what you think are the opportunities and constraints for the different areas being investigated, what you think should be considered when deciding on a location, what type of future industrial uses you’d like to see in the Shire and what you think is important in designing an industrial/business precinct.
