Heritage Study Review
STAGE 1 – MOUNT ELIZA, MORNINGTON, MOUNT MARTHA
Stage 1 of the Heritage Review has now been completed. The recommendations of the Review were incorporated into the Planning Scheme through Amendment C174 (Part 1) and Amendment C174 (Part 3). Amendment C174 (Part 2) related to the abandonment of some earlier exhibited potential heritage places. The approved amendment documentation is available below:
STAGE 2 - DROMANA, ROSEBUD AND RYE
Stage 2 is currently in progress. Context Pty Ltd have been appointed to conduct Stage 2 of the Heritage Review which reviews at the townships between Safety Beach and Rye.
The Mornington Peninsula Shire Heritage Review proposes the review of existing heritage overlays in the Shire and identification of additional potential heritage places.
For the purposes of review, the Shire has been divided into four study areas and stages.
- Stage 1: Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha (now complete)
- Stage 2: Safety Beach to Rye (including hinterland areas like Boneo, Fingal, St Andrews Beach)
- Stage 3: Sorrento and Portsea
- Stage 4: Somerville, Hastings, coastal townships and rural areas
