It is thought that this is the first time that any Victorian municipality has surveyed the views of its heritage place owners. In part, the initiative was a response to submissions received to the Mornington Peninsula Heritage Review (exhibited in mid 2012) which has proposed a number of new heritage listings in the Shire.

The survey will form the background to the development of a new Municipal Heritage Strategy which will guide Council’s management of the Shire’s heritage.
