The Briars Craft and Produce Market

The Briars Craft and Produce Market will be a fantastic day out for friends and family to enjoy quality home-made produce. Purchase the freshest produce from across the region and engage with our talented stallholders who love their arts and crafts.

Cost: market entry is free. $4 per car for car parking. Free shuttle bus between the car park and market

Did you know you can walk into the Briars from the Balcombe Creek and Harrap Creek tracks? Take a wander from either Mt Martha or Craigie Road and discover a new way to enjoy the Briars.

Barefoot Cinema

Kick back and enjoy some great movies in a beautiful setting.

The Mobile Disco

Carl Cox and Eric Powell will be digging into their record collections and playing some of their favourite tracks, songs that were part of their lives growing up, songs that have influenced them over the years.

Mornington Country Music Festival

Mornington Country Music Festival is a one day music festival filled with Australia's best country-styled musicians suitable for all ages. We have gathered some of Australia's best and emerging country rocks artists. The day will be must for all ages to enjoy the natural amphitheatre and surrounds of the Briars on the Mornington Peninsula Victoria. The day will also include amusement rides, food trucks and beers, wines and cider from award winning local breweries. 

The 2020 line up will feature country music royalty Lee Kernaghan who is considered a legend in the Australian music industry and for good reason with 38 number one songs, 37 Golden Guitars and sold over two million albums to his credit. Other artists includes multiple award winning acts - Sunny Cowgirls, Hurricane Fall, Andrew Swift and Oscar Proy.

Peninsula Busking Festival 

Now in its fourth year the peninsula busking festival was a huge success with over 15000+ visitors.  If you're a music fan, or simply love to be entertained, then we have a selection of more than 50 performers as part of the Peninsula Busking Festival including 20+ Food Trucks, Pony Rides, Kids Games Kids Rides and more!!

Autumn school holidays

Autumn at the Briars is the start of nature’s transformation.  Autumn colours appear in the oaks and elms as the buzz of summer gives way to a more peaceful and reflective mood.  

Briars Bush Fairies and Elves

Come along on a magical mission and discover what The Briars fairies get up to in autumn. Do you think we’ll find some hiding in the Wildlife Sanctuary?  You’ll also enjoy making your very own fairy to take home. Please dress in your fairy best, elf, super hero or other magical creature with closed toed shoes – we’re bush fairies after all.

Junior Rangers – Eggstraordinary Eggs! The Easter bandicoot may be visiting you this Easter…

 … but have you ever wondered which animals in the Wildlife Sanctuary have hidden their own precious eggs? Join our Rangers and discover who has hidden eggs in the Wildlife Sanctuary, from the teeny tiniest to the most gigantic!

Briars After-Dark Wildlife Walks

Take a walk through the Wildlife Sanctuary and experience the bush as it transforms from day to night; a truly special time to be outdoors. Bring along a torch to help spot kangaroos, emus, sugar gliders and more! A great activity for all (as long as you can be quiet as an antechinus!).

Wear close-toed shoes or boots and dress appropriately for weather that evening.

Please be aware that we will cover a distance of 1 ½-2km on unsealed track, slightly undulating in areas.  Children must be accompanied by adults.

Briars - Homestead life

Immerse yourself in the life of the Peninsula’s early settlers. Join our volunteer guides on a one-hour tour and explore the buildings and gardens of the Briars Homestead.  On this remarkable journey you’ll discover how the Balcombe family survived and thrived here.

Please note Heritage Homestead restoration works are currently underway, therefore the inside of the Homestead is closed. We are anticipating that the Homestead will be re-opened in mid-2020, watch our website or Facebook page for more details.

Cost: $12 adult, $7 child/concession, $25 family (two adults and two children). Prices include a packet of heritage seeds and feeding of the farm animals.

Games on the Green

Bring a picnic and enjoy some time on the grass playing one of the Briars’ timeless and ingenious outdoor games including giant Connect Four, giant Naughts and Crosses, frisbee and soccer. Games are available for both kids and adults to use whilst enjoying time in the Briars grounds.

Weekends and school holidays 10am - 4pm, free entry.
