State of the Shire’s Infrastructure Assets Report

The ‘State of the Shire’s Infrastructure Assets’ report provides a summary of the current state of the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s infrastructure assets.

The information provided plays a key role in the Shire’s asset management planning process and supports Council in making informed asset renewal decisions in their stewardship role.

The State of the Shire’s Assets report 2016/17:

  • Summarises the quantities of assets the Shire is responsible for.
  • Provides information of the current replacement cost of these assets.
  • Provides an assessment of the Shire’s major infrastructure assets in terms of condition with associated confidence levels.
  • Predicts financial projections for asset renewals over a 10 year period that will sustain the assets in a condition that meets the Shire’s desirable levels of service.

The projected renewal expenditure does not include funds required to upgrade assets or to construct new assets.

In future years the Council and other interested stakeholders will be able to use this data set to recognise trends in the improvement or deterioration in the Shire’s infrastructure and the confidence levels associated with the data provided.
